NANS FROWNS AT DISSOLUTION OF ADSU SUG, CALL FOR REVERSE OF DECISION

 The National Association of Nigerian Students has today, 30th April, 2021 issued a statement through Joint Campus Committee (JCC) expressing her dissatisfaction over dissolution of SUG and other associations by the management of Adamawa State University, Mubi.

According to NANS JCC, the management of the institution has not given clear reason to justify their action of dissolving a democratic elected students’ structure and for that reason the management should revisit her decision to reinstate the union within the given time frame.

In the letter written to the Vice Chancellor of the institution by NANS and copied to the Executive Governor of the state, police commissioner, DSS, NANS president of the senate, NANS Zone Coordinator, media and all Nigerian students clearly described the decision of the management as an administrative coup D’état against students of the institution.

NANS in their letter gave three days ultimatum as a matter of urgency to reinstate the various students’ structure in the university or as an alternative the management should get ready to face thousands of angry Nigerian students.

While management of the institution is working on adopting another system that will replace SUG according to the rumour in circulation, students of the institution who are not comfortable by the disposition of the management are into game of wits of cooking strategies that will bend the management to reverse her decision. Will the management of Adamawa State University ever bow down to pressure to reverse her dissolution decision? Only time can tell!!
